Building Resource Management Capacity

Budva - On October 2017 a group of 25 participants from the RO Vienna region, as well as trainers/facilitators from Regional Offices in Europe and Geneva Headquarters, took part in a Resource Management Capacity Building workshop in Budva, Montenegro.
The focus was mainly on finance, along with ethics and compliance, as well as a session on “Unconscious Bias and Inclusive Leadership”, facilitated by Tanya Odum, an external trainer.
IOM’s own Shabnam Mossaheb, Theodora Suter and Tony Do presented on, “The Values We Share”.
The RO Vienna RM team covered the tools, techniques, concepts and changes in budget preparation and financial monitoring; a briefing on the new travel regulations and other relevant themes.
Somwong Chuleewatanapong, Chief of Manila Financial Services, joined via video-conference updating the group on the ongoing initiatives and projects that have recently gone live. Quinlene Mercullo, from the Regional Accountancy Service, presented sessions on the Periodic Checklist/Account Receivables Review; Project Financial Report Review and Accounting for Implementing Partners.
Amir Gashi, Senior Regional Resource Management Officer from Brussels, joined for one day and demonstrated the importance of applying good resource management in EC funded projects, along with advice on EC Audit/Verification preparation.
