It was a case of “Lights, Camera, Action” at the Vienna Regional Office last week. No, nothing to do with the Global Migration Film Festival, rather the shooting of an innovative introductory training video.
Developed by the Regional Resource Management Team in Vienna, the Financial Management Rules and Procedure (FMRP) training curriculum will eventually be rolled out in seven of IOM’s Regional offices (Vienna, Bangkok, Brussels, Cairo, Dakar, Nairobi and Pretoria).
The project will involve the development of a training package and information documents based on compilation of good practices aimed at promoting the practical application of the FMRP.
“The training development and delivery process will also enable gathering of feedback from the field to be considered in future versions of the FMRP,” noted Feridoon Barraghi, Senior Regional Resource Management Officer in Vienna. “The toolkit should also be flexible enough to allow later adaptations, to improve the understanding and day to day application of the rules and procedures laid out in the FMRP and contribute to full compliance by relevant staff”.
In February 2020 the Vienna Regional Office will host a training of trainsers for Regional Resource Management Officers, which will provide staff with the necessary knowledge and tools to facilitate the trainings on the FMRP in their regions.
Regional Finance Assistant Anita Deignan is the face of the introductory video which will be coming to a conference room near you soon – all we can say is: A Star Is Born!
